4tune Terms of Service
Please read these terms before using 4tune. By installing or using the browser extension, the mobile app, or the alerts service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use them.
1. Who you are agreeing with
4tune is built and operated by Pavlos Panagitsas, an individual developer based in Cyprus ("4tune", "we", "us"). Contact: 4tune.tracker@gmail.com.

2. What 4tune is
4tune shows you your own investments in one place. It has three parts:
- a Chrome extension;
- a mobile app for iPhone and Android;
- an alerts service that watches public crypto prices and sends you a notification.
The extension and app connect to platforms you already hold accounts with — currently Trading 212, Alpaca, Binance, Kraken, Kraken Futures and OKX — using API keys you provide, and display your balances, positions, fees and estimated profit or loss.
4tune is strictly a viewer. It never places, changes or cancels a trade. It never deposits or withdraws funds. It never holds, custodies or touches your money or assets. It asks for no permission beyond reading your account data, and the setup guide tells you to create read-only keys precisely so it cannot do more.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18, or the age of legal majority where you live if that is higher.
4. Not financial advice
4tune displays information about holdings you already own. It does not provide investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. Trend lines and projections are arithmetic applied to your own past data — they are not forecasts and carry no guarantee whatsoever about the future. Price alerts are a notification that a number was reached, not a signal to act. Every decision about your money is yours alone.
5. Accuracy — what we can and cannot promise
4tune is built to be as accurate as reasonably possible, and is specific about where it falls short rather than overstating itself:
- Crypto profit and loss is an estimate. Exchanges don't report a P&L figure, so it is computed from your own recent trade history. It is incomplete if you have held an asset longer than the history the exchange will return, and the app tells you how many of your holdings it covered.
- Fee totals only cover the history the platform returns. Every exchange caps how far back its API will go. Each fee figure is shown with the scope it was calculated from.
- Currency conversion uses European Central Bank reference rates via a third party, cached for up to 12 hours. A real conversion at your bank or broker will differ.
- Stock prices through Alpaca come from the IEX feed on Alpaca's free plan, which can differ by a few cents from the consolidated market price.
- Everything depends on the platforms' own APIs. If a platform has an outage, changes its API or returns something wrong, 4tune will show that.
Check anything that matters against the platform itself before acting on it. 4tune is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, availability or fitness for a particular purpose.
6. Price alerts are best-effort
This one deserves its own section, because it is the part of 4tune most likely to be relied on at a bad moment.
We do not guarantee that an alert will fire, that it will fire on time, or that it will fire at all. An alert has to survive a chain of things outside our control: the public price feed being available and correct, our service running, the notification being accepted by Expo and then by Apple or Google, your phone being reachable, and your own notification, battery and network settings allowing it through. Any link in that chain can delay or drop it.
Prices are also sampled, not watched continuously, so a price that touches your threshold briefly between checks may not trigger an alert at all.
Do not use 4tune alerts for anything time-critical, and do not use them as a stop-loss, a margin-call warning, or any other protective mechanism. Use the tools your exchange or broker provides for that. We are not liable for anything that follows from an alert arriving late, arriving wrong, or never arriving.
The alerts service is free, may be changed, limited or withdrawn at any time, and may be unavailable during maintenance or because of limits in the free infrastructure it runs on.
7. Your API keys and your responsibilities
- Your keys are your responsibility. 4tune's guide tells you to create read-only keys with trading and withdrawal permissions disabled wherever a platform allows it. Follow it. If you choose to give 4tune a key with broader permissions, the consequences are yours.
- Keep your own device, browser profile and phone secure — that is where your keys live.
- Using 4tune must not breach the terms of any platform you connect it to. Each platform's API terms are between you and them.
- Don't use 4tune for anything unlawful, don't attempt to attack or overload the alerts service, and don't try to use it to access an account that isn't yours.
8. Market data and third-party keys
Where 4tune shows prices, it does so through either public market data or a key you create with the provider. 4tune does not collect, store or redistribute market data.
If you add a Finnhub key, that key and your use of it are governed by your own agreement with Finnhub. Finnhub's free plan is licensed for personal, non-commercial use. By adding a key you confirm you are using it within the terms of your own plan, and you are responsible for complying with them. The same applies to data you receive through your own Alpaca or broker account.
9. No affiliation with any platform
4tune is an independent, unofficial tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or officially connected to Trading 212, Alpaca, Binance, Kraken, Kraken Futures, OKX, Finnhub, or any other service it works with. All names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to describe what 4tune is compatible with.
10. Price
4tune is currently free. There are no purchases, subscriptions or adverts. If that ever changes, the change will apply only to future versions, these terms will be updated first, and you will not be charged for anything without agreeing to it.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, 4tune and its developer are not liable for any loss, damage or cost arising from your use of it — including trading decisions made on information it showed, inaccuracies in that information, alerts that were late or never arrived, or any downtime or malfunction.
4tune executes no trades and holds no funds, so it cannot act on your accounts or cause a loss directly. But it cannot guarantee that what it shows is correct, and you should verify anything important against the platform itself.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer in the EU, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected by anything in these terms.
12. Changes, and stopping
We may update, change or discontinue 4tune or any part of it at any time. You can stop using it whenever you like: uninstalling the extension or the app deletes everything stored locally, and emailing us deletes your alerts record (see the Privacy Policy).
If these terms change, the "Last updated" date changes. Continuing to use 4tune after that means you accept the updated terms.
13. If you installed the app from the Apple App Store
These terms are between you and 4tune only — not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for it. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, any failure to conform to a legal requirement, or any claim under consumer protection or similar law, nor for investigating or defending any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules of your own country's law, or of your right to bring proceedings there.
